BUILDING ON THE LIQUID COLLECTIVE

A couple of weeks ago, I landed in Niseko, Japan for the season. New snow, new routines, new headspace. I’ve brought The Liquid Collective with me because this winter is about finally giving the brand the focus and consistency it deserves, with the goal that it will be the start of turning into something more successful than just posting to Instagram every couple of days.

Here’s what I’m working on while I’m here.

1. Creating Consistently (and Actually Sharing It)

The biggest goal is simple: make more and show more. To build a commercially-styled portfolio, and one that will (hopefully) appeal to others as a way to showcase my skills and drive partnerships and collaborations in future work.

I’m trying to shoot almost every day — on and off the mountain — and the plan is to turn that into:

  • regular photo drops

  • short vlogs

  • behind-the-scenes bits

  • stories from the season

Nothing over-produced. Just real, lived-in winter life, wth a creative reset to come out of it.

2. Tightening the Back End of the Brand

The Liquid Collective has been around for years, but it’s always felt a bit scattered. This season I’m tightening up the foundation so it actually works like the brand I’ve always pictured.

Things on the list:

  • organising the portfolio properly

  • finally building repeatable systems for content

  • sorting the website

  • locking in clearer service offerings and a more diverse product range

  • sharpening the identity + voice

Basically: making it feel more like a functioning creative house, not just an archive of cool shots.

3. Shooting Work That Attracts the Right Clients

Being in Japan for winter is a chance to build the exact kind of portfolio I want to be hired for.

That means:

  • snow lifestyle

  • action sports

  • outdoor stories

  • environmental portraits

  • local mini-doc style pieces

The aim is to come out of this season with a body of work that makes brands go, “Oh yeah, that’s done by…” - ME.

4. Laying the Groundwork for New Offerings

I’ve been quietly shaping a few ideas that are going to be developed over the next few months, and Niseko is the perfect place to start creating and testing. and refining these ideas.

  • Potential courses

  • International product offerings

  • Diverse apparel range

  • One or two other little (or not so little) things that I’ve been playing with…

These aren’t things that are launching tomorrow, but this is where the brand and offerings are going to begin to take form.

5. Re-Igniting the Creative Spark

This one’s less business and more personal. The last 12 months or so, there’s been some pretty “stuck” feelings around The Liquid Collective — flat creatively, flat physically, flat mentally. And this is a chance that I need to take to reset and re-create my own personal rituals, and revisit something I love and turn it into a more viable and bigger part of my future work and lifestyle

More opportunities to chase moments rather than wait for them.

That energy is what I want The Liquid Collective to come from.

So yeah — this winter is a build season.

Not in a hustle-bro way. More like a “finally giving this thing a proper shot” way.
