A Re-introduction
Hey there! Welcome! It’s been a while since I've done an about me so I thought it was time for all those who are new here. My name is Josh, and I am the creative director and photographer behind The Liquid Collective!
For the last 10 years or so, my photography journey has specialised and revolved around The Liquid Collective (@liquidcollectiveau), specialising in commercial lifestyle and action sport content, mainly based around snowsports and surfing lifestyles. Our work is built on a love for storytelling and a commitment to creating visual experiences that resonate deeply and linger long after the moment has passed. Our name is rooted in salt and snow — a reflection of the liquid states that have shaped our lives. From sun-bleached Australian beach days to Japanese alpine ascents, we live for the moments where nature, motion and emotion collide.
In conjunction with this side of my life, I am also a SBINZ qualified Level 3 snowboard instructor for the last ten years, with a huge amount of this work based internationally, travelling and living around the world teaching others the pure joy that snowboarding can bring, as well as guiding in backcountry areas for clients (including in New Zealand, Australia, the United States, Canada and Japan). I love to travel and experience beautiful new places and cultures, new mountains and meet new friends, documenting the ride along the way.
A couple of quick little facts you might not have known about me:
✖️I grew up surfing and love to be around the ocean, but I absolutely HATE sand. It gets everywhere and you will never ever get it all out of any equipment.
✖️I am an average mountain biker (it scares the shit out of me but I love it - it’s nice to feel like a loser at something every now and again. Reminds me that there is always room to improve), and would love to do more of this, exploring Australia and New Zealand especially - maybe next photo trip?
✖️I love cars and motorbikes, especially old muscle cars and custom bike builds, and have just upgraded to my first 4x4 which means a lot more beach driving, camping trips and adventures are to come - stay tuned!
✖️I have the biggest sweet tooth you have ever seen (blame my grandma for that one!)
✖️I work hard for everything that I have and do, and have such a strong intrinsic drive to do well, better myself, grow, and make my dreams a reality - cause I don’t really know what else I would be doing if I wasn’t doing this.
